Digital X-rays
We utilize the latest in radiographic imaging with our Dexis digital x-ray system. This uses 4x less radiation then traditional dental x-rays. The x-ray appears almost instantaneous for viewing and shows significant more details.

Payment is generally expected as services are rendered unless previous arrangements have been made. We accept several insurance plans and will gladly file your claim for you. In return, we ask that you please provide as much information about your dental insurance as possible.

We accept Visa, and Master Card as well as automatic payment plans and interest free financing with approved credit. There is a charge for returned checks.


What to Expect

During the first visit, we ask all patients to fill out a comprehensive health history and patient information questionnaire before being seen. The health history and office policy forms can be downloaded from our website, www.smokyhilldental.com. Once seated in the dental chair, x-rays will be taken (if necessary). The American Dental Association recommends a complete series of x-rays approximately every 3 years and 4 bite-wing x-rays once per year. Any x-rays you can obtain from a previous dentist will be very helpful during your first visit.

The doctor will then perform a comprehensive dental exam including an evaluation for gum disease, oral cancer, TMJ disorders, orthodontic problems and, of course, cavities. We would like to clean your teeth during your initial visit. However, it may take multiple visits depending on how long it has been since your last cleaning or your level of gum disease.

To make your visit more comfortable, we offer flat screen TV's with satellite service in each of our rooms. We also have a wide variety of DVD's to choose from for kids and adults.

Children

We are happy to see all children in our office. Your child's initial visit will consist of (depending on their age) a thorough exam, cleaning, necessary x-rays, orthodontic evaluation and fluoride treatment. "Good children" are rewarded with a coin for our toy vending machine! We recommend that a child's first visit occur between the ages of 3 and 4. It will usually consist of an exam and possibly a cleaning. Please remember, children under the age of 18 age are still considered minors and parental consent is required for any treatment.

If extensive treatment is required, your child may be referred to a pedodontist.
